The Sangter Foundation also deals with education. In cooperation with the school “Demazong English Academy”, the language is taught Tibetan.
The Foundation intends to organize a collection of books for children and adults in English in Poland, as well as toys and accessories needed for Montessori education.
Organize volunteering for volunteers from Poland, whose aim will be to offer knowledge and skills of volunteers to children from school and the local community associated with the school. Volunteering can also become an important platform for the exchange of experiences and knowledge between participants.
For many years, Sikkim has been promoted in India and abroad as a producer of organic food, a place of extraordinary respect for wildlife and natural resources.
The slogan “organic state” has already penetrated the social consciousness and sets trends for politicians and producers.
This is of great importance for the development of sustainable and pilgrimage tourism, which is becoming an important branch of the economy of this Himalayan state.
Paths of Culture and nature
The Sangter Foundation combines culture and ecology in its activities.
The result is the project “Paths of culture and nature” being created.
It aims to encourage the discovery and protection of old routes and paths connecting towns in Sikkim.
These are often wild and increasingly neglected. It is important to educate how to care for them so that they remain and are not forgotten and forced out of the collective consciousness.
These paths are unique in terms of culture and landscape.
They have their stories based only on the oral transmission.
They are monuments of memory and places of collective regional identity.
They combine in themselves directly and symbolically culture, religions and the passing, changing time.
They are also symbols of collective memory, building and maintaining cultural identity, whose nurturing is necessary to maintain its continuity.
Thanks to them, people have been moving for centuries to meet other members of the local community.
“The paths of culture and nature” are intended to draw the attention of the inhabitants as well as tourists to their importance for culture and ecosystems.
The project will also be important for cooperation with residents and for building a cross-cultural and intergenerational relationship.
Wandering along the paths is to take place together with volunteers as well as elderly people and children who should become guides for guests and tourists.
